Togetherness is Everything-Part five of T.E.I.I.T.H

If you’ve been reading this blog series, I think it’s safe to say you’re catching on to the truth. They want you to comply, so they hide behind the things we consume. It makes it easier for them while you just rot… slowly.

I’ve already touched on every point but one. As you read through this blog series, your mind might have come across one question. “What does any of this have to do with the entertainment industry?” Well, my friend, the entertainment industry is a part of the system.

ARE WE HAVING A GOOD TIME?

The system was all by design. They test and then pick the perfect candidate to mold in their image. And the image they choose includes staying silent. NDA’s—we all heard of them. If you haven’t, an NDA is a non-disclosure agreement that is a legal document between two or more parties who agree not to disclose any sensitive information revealed over the course of doing work together.

As I’ve said before, people in the entertainment industry aren’t just actors or musicians—they’re also authors and content creators. It’s people who bring entertainment.

We are at the forefront. We’re role models—we inspire people. Our inspiration isn’t from the ones who molded us into their image. It’s because of who we are as people. Your managers, talent agencies, and literary agents target people who have talent, yes, but also who are easier to manage. Of course, not all, but most of them do.

The ones who won’t spill the truth because “we’re friends.” They confuse you and tell you they’re on your side, but really, it’s in their best interest. And the ones who break free and escape to tell the truth get blacklisted or labeled as difficult. They silence you because they’re scared of power, of fans. After all, with so many loyal followers, the truth will go viral.

TO BE OR NOT TO BE

That’s the biggest question for every morally driven person: “Do I speak up and tell the truth or do I stay silent?” The dark truth they don’t tell is that you lose connections in the industry, you lose opportunities, and you even go bankrupt because you’ve lost everything.

Actress, podcaster, and author Olivia Munn refused a seven-figure settlement from a studio after filing a complaint against something traumatic that occurred on a movie set. She pushed back by denying the offer because it came at the cost of her signing an NDA. Her choice of not staying silent stripped her profession away. She reportedly told a studio lawyer on set, “I know this is a lot of money to you, but it is not a lot of money to me to lose my voice,” after telling Munn, “You’d be crazy not to take it.”

These are the consequences of those who act in good faith. Those who refuse to accept hush money because they’re aware of their worth. What if I told you I can teach you how to fight back like Munn, but don’t have to risk everything?

LET’S REBUILD

The truth doesn’t have to come with a price. And it doesn’t have to. That’s why banding together is so important. You can disagree with the next person in the room all you like, but who is it helping?

When everyone is born, we’re all made equal, no matter the gender, race, religion, or class. We’re all born pure beings who need to be taught how to love, speak, eat, and so much more. The only thing that makes us impure is the world. And the world runs on a system that is purposely not beneficial for anyone.

We can change that because we have the power. We always had the power, but it wasn’t taught to you. You can prevent the silencing of people. Community is what scares these people in power, so they try their hardest to divide us.

Don’t let that happen. Take your power back.
